Rita Webb - actress

The comedy actress Rita Webb died in hospital yesterday, aged 77.
She was admitted to the Samaritan Hospital for women on August 9 after telling her close friend the actor Arthur Mullard, know that she thought she had cancer.
Miss Webb began her career at the age of 15 when she ran away from school and got a job as a dancer at the Metropolitan Theater in London.
She lived with her husband Jeff in the same house in Chepstow Road Bayswater, London, for 40 years.
Arthur Mullard commented: "I worked with Rita many many times - we were almost like a double act. She was a lovely woman."
